Comfort & Elegance on the Quietside
Our private suites, inviting shared spaces and impeccable service are sure to make your stay unforgettable. Our historic inn features bright and airy rooms with elegant décor, all the amenities needed to make you feel at home, and the Bowsprit Bar provides that extra perk for evening relaxation. We look forward to welcoming you soon!

OUR INN
The Harbour Cottage Inn is located in a quiet neighborhood in the village of Southwest Harbor on Mount Desert Island. The many activities that Acadia National Park and the beautiful coast of Maine have to offer are just minutes from our door, and comfortable and luxurious accommodations welcome you upon your return.
In 2021, we built a beautiful deck for guests to enjoy the shade of our majestic tulip poplar. We wanted to make the most of our new space and so, the Bowsprit Bar was born.
We serve creative cocktails and shareable bites every evening to guests and the public alike. Gather with us for a pre-dinner cocktail, stop by for an after-dinner dessert, or sit and enjoy the firepit with a local cheese plate. Open 5:00pm-8:00pm nightly.

What's Nearby?
Southwest Harbor is a small working harbor with a variety of shops, restaurants and outdoor activities, all within walking distance of the inn. There is a nine hole golf course in town, plenty of walking trails and opportunities to enjoy the shorefront.
Dining Out
Fresh seafood, delicious sandwiches for a hiking picnic, homemade ice cream and hand-rolled pasta: the island’s eateries satisfy a wide range of appetites. Some our favorites are listed here:
Harbor Table – Southwest Harbor
Havana’s Parilla – Bar Harbor
Milk & Honey – Northeast Harbor
Islesford Dock Restaurant – Islesford, Little Cranberry Island
Acadia National Park
With 150 miles of hiking trails, 45 miles of carriage roads, rocky cliffs, sandy beaches, freshwater lakes and ponds for swimming, horse-drawn carriages and boat tours, Acadia National Park has something for everyone.
There’s always something to do. Check out the Acadia Chamber for a current list of events.
